Kanpur: Violence erupted in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh over protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act, which took a terrible turn, with some miscreants disrupting the peace of Kanpur so much that violence has spread to many places in the city. While the common man is hurt in this violence, police personnel have not been able to escape from it.

Some police personnel were injured in the violence in Kanpur today. ADG of Zone reached to see the injured. Some miscreants today committed violence in the Bakanganj police station area of Kanpur. A hotel near Yatim Khana was set ablaze and several vehicles were burnt. Many police personnel were injured in this violence. Out of these, a seriously injured trainee, Daroga Prabal Pratap Singh and a soldier Arpit Singh were admitted to Hallet Hospital for treatment.

The policeman was attacked by a petrol bomb, while a soldier was shot, who was fired. ADG Zone Prem Prakash along with IG Mohit Aggarwal have reached Hallet Hospital to know the condition of these police personnel. The ADG came to know and comforted the police personnel.
