Dispute over breaking of religious sites in Barabanki, FIR lodged against 8

Lucknow: The controversy over the demolition of the disputed site in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, is not going to stop. An FIR has now been registered in the tehsil premises of Ram Sanehi Ghat in connection with the declaration of illegal occupation as wakf property. A case has been registered against the inspector of wakf property committee and Sunni Central Wakf Board announced on the complaint of district minority welfare officer.

The district administration claims that the Wakf property had tampered with the papers and filed government land without any revenue report. In Barabanki, 8 persons have been booked FIR at Ramsnehi Ghat Kotwali. The demolition of the disputed site has also taken a political turn. The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress have raised the issue. The Congress party delegation left for the spot yesterday. Efforts were made to go there and protest against the government, but the police stopped the convoy of the Congress delegation before the spot and later detained several Congress leaders including Congress state president Ajay Kumar Lallu.

In the case, Congress State President Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the government is working to adopt a dictatorial attitude, the administration has hurt the sentiments of the people, the action was carried out even after the stay till the 30th, the Congress party will protest from the House to the streets over the issue.
