New Delhi: In a major crackdown late on Thursday (February 24, 2022), the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) has arrested former National Stock Exchange (NSE) Operating Officer (COO) Anand Subramaniam alias 'Himalayan Yogi.' This is the first arrest made by the CBI in the big scam case of NSE a few years ago. CBI sources said that It is Subramanian Yogi who had contacted former NSE MD and CEO Chitra Ramakrishna through email.

According to the report, by the hypocrisy of becoming a Himalayan yogi, It was Anand Subramaniam who controlled the decisions taken by Chitra Ramakrishna. Subramanium has been arrested by the investigating agency from his residence in Chennai. The investigating agency has claimed that it has strong evidence that Anand Subramaniam had contacted Chitra by a mail ID named rigyajursama@outlook.com. Chitra had shared a lot of confidential and sensitive information about NSE on rigyajursama@outlook.com from her mail ID rchitra@icloud.com between 2013 and 2016. Chitra Ramakrishna was the MD and CEO of NSE during the same period.

He was questioned by the investigating agency for about four days last week before arresting The Himalayan Yogi, but he kept on giving round-the-clock answers to the questions. He was then arrested. Earlier, Chitra had told that the yogi is a saint and he lives somewhere in the Himalayas. They have no physical bodies and can come and go anytime and anywhere. Not only this, in the email checking, it was also revealed that this Himalayan yogi used to admire Chitra's hair and go abroad and take a walk in the sea.
