Islamabad: A Pakistani sessions court has sentenced a man to death after finding him guilty of killing his childhood friend Noor Muqaddam. The court has sentenced him to death on charges of torturing the girl, raping her and then separating her head from the torso.

The guilty person belongs to an industrialist family and his name is said to be Zaheer Jaffer. Jaffer has been found guilty of the murder of Noor Muqaddam. Noor Muqaddam (27) was a friend of Zaheer Jaffer. Noor Muqaddam refused to marry him. On July 20, 2021, the body of the accused was found at the residence of Zaheer Jaffer.

According to reports, on the complaint of Noor's father, former diplomat Shaukat, the police had registered an FIR against Zaheer Jaffer and he has been convicted on charges of pre-planned murder. On Thursday, Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani pronounced the verdict which he had reserved after the hearing of the case was completed on Tuesday.

Judge Rabbani found Zaheer Jaffer guilty under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and sentenced him to death. Though the court has acquitted Zaheer's father Zakir Jaffer, mother Asmat Adamji and his personal cook in the case, it has also acquitted his two domestic helpers - Iftikhar and Jamil - to 10 years imprisonment each.
