Mumbai: An uproar unfolded at a bar-cum-restaurant in Thane, Maharashtra, when three intoxicated youths assaulted the staff with knives, sticks, and bottles, citing a delay in their food and drinks order on Wednesday night. The Sagar Hill Top restaurant in the Azad Nagar locality witnessed the violent incident, captured on CCTV. The footage revealed the youths engaging in a brawl with the restaurant staff, with one brandishing a cleaver, causing injuries to some waiters.

The accused individuals, identified as Omkar Bhonsle, Abhi Patil, and Tyacha Sathidar, were consuming alcohol at the restaurant when, around 11:30 pm, an argument erupted with a waiter over the delayed service. The situation escalated when one of them flipped a table, triggering a physical confrontation.

During the heated exchange, one of the youths wielded a cleaver, indiscriminately attacking the staff, while his associates hurled any available objects. The staff retaliated by throwing bottles and steel utensils. The violent altercation persisted for several minutes before the assailants fled the scene.

A case has been registered at the Kasaravdavali police station, and authorities are actively pursuing the apprehension of the accused. The incident has drawn criticism from the opposition, questioning law and order in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Assembly constituency.
