Dehradun: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has indicated to increase the limit of 38 thousand fixed by the government recently for Char Dham Yatris. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that no such number has been fixed. He said that if the number of pilgrims increases, it will be considered. It is noteworthy that from the very first day there was an all-out protest against the limit set by the government. However, after this statement of the CM, some confusion has also arisen because his cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj was seen on Tuesday citing limited figures of people according to the mandate.
Before the beginning of the same Chardham Yatra, the government had issued an order and fixed the number of pilgrims for daily darshan in the four Dhams. In Yamunotri Dham, the figures of 4 thousand, Gangotri 7 thousand, Kedarnath 12 thousand and Badrinath 15 thousand were fixed. This order of the government was strongly opposed by the traders, hotel, home stay owners and businessmen associated with the taxi-bus associated with the additional rotation of pande-pilgrimage priests.
Protests were held at Harsil, Dharali, the main stop of Yamunotri Dham and Gangotri Dham, including district headquarters Uttarkashi. Along with this, the Hotel Association Uttarkashi had sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Collector demanding withdrawal of the order. Journalists sought feedback from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who reached Gangotri Dham on Tuesday, on the order of the government. On this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that no such number has been fixed. However, he talked about considering it if there is a large number of pilgrims in the Dhams.
