Bijnor: Four persons including 3 persons from Nagina in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, who came to visit Kotdwar during Eid holiday, died due to drowning in Khoh river. SDRF and police team pulled the dead body out of the river from Khoh river near Amsaur-Durgadevi.
On Tuesday afternoon, 8 persons from Nagina Bijnor Uttar Pradesh had reached Kotdwar to celebrate Eid holiday. They reached Khoh river between Amsaur and Durgadevi on Dugadda road for the purpose of bathing in the river. Around 4 pm, 4 people descended to take a bath in the river. Then a boy went into deep water and started drowning. To save him, another companion also got down in the river. Soon he too drowned. Four persons drowned in the river trying to save each other.
As soon as the news of the drowning of the same 4 persons was received, the people of the area gathered in large numbers and they informed the police about the incident. SDRF and police team reached the spot as soon as the news was received. The team pulled the boys out of the river, but they were already dead. Kotwal Vijay Singh told that the companions of the drowned boys identified the dead. The deceased include Nadeem (42) son Anish, Zaib (29) son Shahid, Guddu (24) son Shahid resident of nearby police post Nagina Bijnor Uttar Pradesh and Ghalib (15) son Khalid resident of Sheki Sarai Nagina Bijnor Uttar Pradesh.
