Panic erupted during the closing ceremony of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) after a journalist was asked to remove the black-coloured face mask. People were instructed not to wear black clothes on the occasion.

Host Jain University has also won the Khelo India University Games title. Whose players won a total of 32 medals including 20 gold, due to which the team of the university remained on top. A source with knowledge of the incident said, "As per what I have come to know, the instructions came from the police from the security point of view as Home Minister Amit Shah was present.

This instruction was necessary for the general public present there and not for the media. But later the matter was resolved and everyone was allowed to enter. However, before the situation was brought under control by the organisers, there was panic over the entry inside the venue.
