Jhabua: A 20-year-old college-going girl was allegedly abducted in a car and raped by a youth from Jhabua in Bhanwarkuan area. The accused held her captive and also thrashed the girl at his place.

The police have registered a case against the accused on Sunday and started a search for him. According to the Bhanwarkuan police station staff, the victim approached the police station and lodged a complaint that she is a college student and resides in the area. On December 22, she was returning home from somewhere when accused Kamlesh reached there and abducted her in a car. He took the girl to his place in the Vishnupuri area where he allegedly raped her.

The accused had threatened the girl with dire consequences and she got scared. She didn't reveal the matter to anyone due to threats from the accused. On Sunday, she told the matter to her parents and later lodged a complaint with the police. It is said that the victim and the accused are from the same village. She stays in rented accommodation for her study while the accused also resides in the area. The accused not only abducted the girl but he also held her captive in his place and thrashed her. After that the accused raped the girl. The police are investigating the case further.
