Colombia reports 9,310 new corona cases, COVID-19 cases top 1.6 million

Bogota: Colombia registered 9,310 new corona cases in the past 24 hours. With the addition of the new cases, the nationwide tally reaches to 1,603,807, Meanwhile, 203 more deaths were reported, raising the nationwide death toll to 42,374.

In the view of corona cases, Colombian President Ivan Duque has extended the health emergency for COVID-19 until February 28, 2021, and adopted measures to help reactivate the economy.

Talking about the worldwide corona cases, According to the Johns Hopkins University, The overall number of global coronavirus cases has crossed 81.2 million marks. The deaths toll crosses  1.77 million marks.The US is the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 19,299,960 and 334,830, respectively. India stands at second place in terms of cases at 10,207,871, while the country's death toll soared to 147,901.
