Congress announces candidates for Assembly Elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry

New Delhi: The Congress has announced several candidates for the assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry last Tuesday. In fact, the list has included 21 candidates for Assam, 14 candidates for Puducherry, six for Kerala, and four for Tamil Nadu. Congress has so far declared 92 candidates for Assam. However, the Congress-led Grand Alliance in Assam has included AIUDF, BPF, CPI (M), CPI, and Zonal Gana Morcha.

In addition, polling for the 126-member assembly constituency in the state has been held in three phases on 27th March, one, and 6th April. The first list of Congress candidates announced for the Puducherry assembly does not include the name of former chief minister V Narayanasamy. In fact, the Congress is contesting for 15 seats in the 30-member assembly elections, and its ally DMK 13 and CPI and VNK party are going to contest one seat each.

Talking about the Kerala assembly elections, Congress has already released a list of six more candidates. Earlier, the party had released a list of 86 candidates for the Kerala assembly elections last Sunday. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy has been fielded from Puthupalli's seat while the leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala in the assembly from Haripad seat.
