NEW DELHI: Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury strongly criticized the government for the recent breach in Parliament security. He emphasized the importance of asking questions, stating that blaming politicians for raising concerns means the government is avoiding addressing the public's worries. Chowdhury called for the Prime Minister to speak on the matter and urged the Home Minister to explain the conduct of Parliament.

Echoing Chowdhury's sentiments, Congress MP K Suresh demanded a statement from the Home Minister regarding the breach, highlighting the severity of the incident that occurred within the Lok Sabha chamber. Additionally, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Amar Pattnaik stressed the need for unity among political parties to address the security issue, emphasizing that safeguarding democracy should be a joint effort.

In response to the breach, opposition members staged a protest inside Parliament, demanding action against BJP MP Pratap Simha, who faces allegations of providing Parliament passes to those responsible for causing panic in the Lok Sabha with smoke canisters.

Earlier, 14 MPs were suspended, but a clarification from Pralhad Joshi revealed that one member had been erroneously included in the suspension list. Consequently, a request was made to exclude the member who was not present during the disruption from the list of suspended MPs.

A motion was also put forth by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi to suspend nine opposition MPs, sparking protests over the security breach in Parliament. Opposition members are calling for Home Minister Amit Shah to address the issue in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
