Ayodhya: In a surprising turn of events, Congress leader and Minister from Himachal Pradesh, Vikramaditya Singh, defied the party's decision to decline the invitation to the Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. Singh not only reached the holy city but actively participated in the grand ceremony held at the Ram Mandir.

Himachal Pradesh's PWD Minister, Vikramaditya Singh, witnessed the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram in Ram Mandir, marking a departure from the Congress party's stance.

Earlier, Himachal Pradesh became the sole Congress-ruled state to declare a half-day for all state government workers in recognition of the significant event. However, the Congress officially turned down the invitation, branding it a 'BJP/RSS event.' Senior leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, declined the invitation, citing the political nature of the ceremony.

In a statement, the Congress emphasized that while respecting the sentiments of millions who revere Lord Ram, its leaders had declined an invitation to what they deemed a BJP and RSS event. They accused the BJP and RSS of turning the construction of the Ayodhya temple into a political project.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively participated in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ramlalla at the newly-built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. The Prime Minister arrived in Ayodhya earlier in the day, describing the occasion as a unique and emotional moment.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present at the ceremony. The grand temple ceremony saw the participation of over 8,000 guests.

Constructed in the traditional Nagara style, the temple boasts intricate sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. The main sanctum sanctorum houses the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram, known as Shri Ramlalla. The temple complex includes five halls, each serving a specific purpose, and features historic elements such as Sita koop and the ancient temple of Bhagwan Shiv at Kuber Tila.
