Bhopal: The market was also heated by speculation about his younger brother and Damoh MLA Rahul Lodhi after Congress MLA Prayumna Singh Lodhi went to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the by-election in Madhya Pradesh. However, Rahul refused to leave the Congress at that moment. However, he later resigned from the legislature and joined the BJP.

Rahul Lodhi first handed over his resignation to Protem speaker Rameshwar Sharma. Later today, in the presence of CM Shivraj Singh, BJP subscribed. It may be recalled that in the year 2003, when the CM Digvijay Singh came Damoh, Rahul Lodhi joined Congress and he was with the Congress since then.

The Congress had made him its candidate from Damoh assembly constituency and he had to snatch the seat from the BJP and the Congress flag was snatched from the BJP by making a dent in the BJP stronghold. Rahul Singh Lodhi had said that he had made MLA by the Congress party and he would always remain with the Congress, but a week before the by-election, he has shocked everyone by resigning.
