Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader and MP from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat, Shashi Tharoor is currently on target by his party leaders. Tharoor has praised PM Modi on several occasions. This praise is passing on to Congress leaders. In this episode, Shashi Tharoor has been targeted by another Congress MP. K. Shashi Tharoor praises PM Modi, says 'PM should be praised when he does right'
Muraleedharan's remarks came days after the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee directed party leaders not to make public statements. In fact, after the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Tharoor made a statement that PM Modi should be praised for doing the right things, after which the controversy broke out. Without naming Tharoor, Muraleedharan said that Congress leader and former MP late A. Charles, who did not know Oxford's English, had won the Thiruvananthapuram seat three times.
Congress MP's attack on Tharoor, Says 'if he wants to praise Modi then...'
Addressing the media, he said that even if he had left the Congress some time ago, he would never have supported or favored the BJP. The senior leader was clearly referring to his recent criticism by Tharoor. Shashi Tharoor had said that those who are asking him to leave the party and join the BJP had himself joined the Congress barely eight years ago and had been attacking it for many years before leaving the party. It is worth noting that in recent times, many preferred leaders of Congress had taken a soft stand on PM Modi.
