New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and MP from Kerala Shashi Tharoor has been made a member of Parliament's Standing Committee on External Affairs by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Shashi Tharoor has been the chairman of this committee. This time, after not being appointed to the post of Speaker, Tharoor said that the government is ending the tradition of making the opposition the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee. The MP from Thiruvananthapuram is currently the chairman of the Information and Technology Affairs Committee. Giving information about Tharoor's nomination, the Lok Sabha Secretariat said, "The Speaker has nominated Deepak Baji from the Foreign Affairs Committee for the Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers.

He has also nominated Dr. Shashi Tharoor as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. It is to be noted that the Foreign Affairs Committee headed by Shashi was then Foreign Secretary S.K. Jaishankar was summoned. Vijay Gokhale, who was appointed Foreign Secretary after Jaishankar, also issued summons in the same matter. Jaishankar is currently the foreign minister. Let me tell you that Tharoor has been in a lot of discussion recently due to his statements regarding Modi.
