New Delhi: The decision has been reserved by the apex court on the review petition of fugitive liquor businessman Vijay Mallya. In fact, Mallya filed a review petition against the 2017 Supreme Court ruling. In which the transfer of $ 40 million to the next of kin of a bank by not paying a bank loan was considered a contempt case by the apex court.

Earlier, a bench of Justice Udaya U. Lalit and Justice Ashok Bhushan heard the writ petition of Vijay Mallya on June 16 and asked the Supreme Court Registry to submit full details, including the names of the officials who had seen the files related to this review petition, for three years. Instructed. The apex court had said that, according to the record presented before us, the reconsideration petition was not presented before the court for the last three years. Before looking into the issues raised in the reconsideration petition, we direct the registry to clear why this petition was not presented before the court concerned in the last three years.

Taking seriously the unnecessary delay in listing the reconsideration petition, the apex court had directed the registry to clarify within two weeks. The bench further said in its order that after this, the reconsideration petition will be considered on merits. Today, the top court has reserved its decision on the review petition.
