New Delhi: There are 9 cases of Covid in Delhi. Of these, 8 patients are admitted on oxygen beds. Efforts are being made to send samples of all Covid patients in Delhi to laboratories for genome sequencing. The Health Department says that on an average 3-4 cases of infection are being reported every day in Delhi. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj says that the government is fully prepared to deal with the possible spread of Covid infection. Beds are ready in all hospitals depending on the need.

AIIMS reserved beds: In view of the increasing cases of Covid, AIIMS has taken contingency measures to earmark two beds in each patient ward for patients seriously ill with Corona virus. AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. Sanjeev Lalwani has issued the order. It has been said that the number of suspected corona patients has increased in the emergency department of AIIMS. In view of this, it has been decided to create a designated cubicle in C6 ward to admit serious patients.  

Along with this, efforts have been made to reserve two additional beds in each ward. Under this decision, AB-1, C-1, D-1, AB-2, C-2, D-2, AB-4, C-4, D-4, AB-6, D-6, AB- 7, Pulmonary Medicine and Geriatric Medicine wards as well as Maternal and Child Block, Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgical Block for surgical discipline departments are going to have beds. These beds will be under the administrative control of the duty officer. Beds are to be given to patients on the recommendation of the emergency CO. Redistribution of beds will be the responsibility of the concerned department head. 

MS has said in the order that the heads of the concerned clinical departments and units should transfer the patients admitted on bed numbers 1 and 2 of their wards to any other vacant bed of their respective department/unit.
