For the prevention of corona virus, the first plasma therapy of the state has been done under the new methods of treatment by Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital Faridkot. Punjab medical education and research minister OP Soni said that the team of doctors in Faridkot has given this therapy to a patient seriously ill due to covid-19.

For your information, let us tell you that this hospital has become the leading institute in the country to introduce this therapy as part of the National Clinical Trial under ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research). Soni said that this is the first therapy given to a Kovid-19 patient in Punjab.

For this purpose, a few days ago, the plasma of a patient recovered from Kovid was stored at GGS Medical College, Faridkot. This plasma was given to a person suffering from this virus. After plasma therapy, the patient's condition is rapidly improving and is under surveillance.

What is plasma

Plasma is the liquid and transparent part of the blood. It is light yellow. It is made up of 92 percent water. Plasma is 55 percent of the blood.

What is plasma therapy

When a human comes in contact with a germ, the body makes antibodies to eliminate it. These antibodies are also found in plasma. When the patient is cured of the infection, then these antibodies remain in the plasma for some time. Many times your antibodies can fight other infections.
