New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India recorded 90,928 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate is 3.47 percent, while the daily positivity rate is 6.43 percent. A total of 325 people died, bringing the total number of deaths across the country to 482876.
With this, the country's active caseload has reached 2,85,401. During this time, 19,206 people recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in India to 19,206 in the last 24 hours, cumulaitng the total number of recoveries to 3,43,41,009. The current recovery rate is 97.81 percent. According to the health ministry, active cases make up less than 1 percent of all cases (0.81 percent).
According to the ministry, 68.53 crore COVID-19 tests have been completed in the country so far, with 148.67 crore vaccine doses administered as part of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
Meanwhile, the number of new COVID cases in Kerala increased again on Wednesday, with the state reporting 4,801 new infections, bringing the total to 52,54,290. On Tuesday, the southern state reported 3,640 instances. According to an official news statement, the state additionally recorded 258 deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 48,895.
