New Delhi: India has seen a continuous increase in the number of new COVID infections, with the case positive rate rising to 0.53 percent in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In comparison to yesterday, India recorded 313 more COVID-19 cases today. On Wednesday, the country saw a total of 2,067 COVID-19 cases. With this, the country's active caseload now stands at 13,433, or 0.03 percent of all cases.
In the previous 24 hours, 1,231 COVID patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries since the start of the pandemic to 4,25,14,479. The percentage of recovery is 98.76 percent. According to the Ministry, 56 people died. The country's death toll presently stands at 5,22,062.
The daily case positive rate rose from 0.49 percent on Wednesday to 0.53 percent on Thursday (on Thursday). The weekly positive rate increased from 0.38 percent on Wednesday to 0.43 percent on Thursday (on Thursday). In the last 24 hours, 4,49,114 COVID samples were tested. So far, 83.33 crore tests have been performed in the country.
In terms of vaccination, 15,47,288 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given out during this time period. With this, the total number of vaccines given out as part of the nationwide immunisation campaign has now reached 1,87,07,08,111.
