Anantnag: In the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces are intensifying their operation into the fifth day, demonstrating unwavering determination to eradicate terrorists from the Gadole forest area. This push follows recent attacks, and mortar shells were deployed on Sunday morning to target identified cave-like hideouts within the forest. A terrorist attempting to escape after a hideout was hit by shells on Friday was captured on drone footage.

Leveraging cutting-edge technology such as drones and helicopters, security forces are conducting comprehensive surveillance of the dense forest, deploying precision fire tactics to minimize collateral damage. To prevent potential infiltration into civilian areas, the security cordon has been extended to the neighboring Posh Kreeri area.

In their ongoing operation, the police have expressed confidence that approximately two to three terrorists are trapped within the forested region. Additional Director General of Police (Kashmir), Vijay Kumar, has reiterated the operation's credibility and determination to eliminate those responsible for the attacks.

This operation follows a tragic firefight on Wednesday, resulting in the loss of two Army officers and a deputy superintendent of police. Since that incident, security forces have remained on high alert.
