Most famous poet Mohammad Iqbal of the 20th century is known as Allama Iqbal. Allama means scholar. Iqbal was a poet who raised a strong voice against British rule and received praise from him. He also worked to awaken the Muslim society with his works and create revolution in them. Hardly any Urdu poet has tried before him. Iqbal was an outspoken critic of the British government, but in 1922 he surprised everyone by accepting the title of 'Knighthood'. In 1927, he was also elected to the Punjab Assembly.

Most of the Muslims in the British rule of that era were in very modest jobs and the recognition or appreciation of the Muslims from the British government was nothing more than show. Due to all this, Iqbal was beginning to believe that there is a need for a renaissance in Islamic society and he was not ready to accept anything less than this. Although he used to talk of a united and independent India in his early days, where Hindus and Muslims would be able to live together, his obsolescence of brotherhood and pluralism soon turned into monotheism and individualism.

This journey of Iqbal can be seen like this: -

Iqbal, who wrote Tarana-e-Hind ('Hindi hai ham watan hai Hindustan hamara') in 1904, wrote Tarana-e-Milli ('Muslim hai hum, watan hai sara jahan hamara') in 1910.

Only two decades later, in 1930, while leading a meeting of the Muslim League in Allahabad, Iqbal sparked by speaking of a separate country for the Muslims, which caused a fire, dividing the country into two pieces and today the cold did not cool down. However, Iqbal's ideology of Islamic nationalism had no place for boundaries created by humans. Iqbal, in one of his Kalam 'Gila', also appears to complain to India.
