New Delhi: The Minister of Defence  Rajnath Singh is set to visit Arunachal Pradesh today, January 3,  to inaugurate a number of development projects.

The visit comes a month after India- China troops clashed along the Line of Actual Control in the Tawang sector.
The defense minister will virtually open 27 projects of the Border Roads Organization in addition to the Siyom Bridge near Boleng in Siang district (BRO). The 100-meter-long Siyom bridge over the river Siyom is a strategically significant bridge since it allows the military to move troops to the Line of Actual Control's remote regions at a strategic advantage.

The Indian Army heroically prevented Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops from invading Indian land, sas per a statement made by the Defence Minister in Parliament, and forced them to retreat to their positions.
"On December 9, 2022, PLA soldiers attempted to unilaterally alter the status quo in the Yangtse region of the Tawang sector by crossing the LAC. Our troops resisted the Chinese attack with firmness and resolve. The ensuing confrontation resulted in a physical altercation in which the Indian Army valiantly stopped the PLA from invading our country and forced them to retreat to their positions "Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, spoke in the Lok Sabha. The Minister said that diplomatic channels had been used to raise the issue with China.

"Following this incidnet, the regional commander convened a flag meeting with his Chinese counterpart on December 11 in accordance with the established system and discussed this incident. All such actions were rejected and the Chinese side was instructed to keep the border peaceful "To the Lok Sabha, Singh said.

Rajnath Singh said that no Indian troops were killed or seriously injured in the incident."During this battle, a few troops from each side were inured. I want to assure this House that none of our men were killed or seriously injured. PLA soldiers have fled to their own places as a result of the quick action of Indian military authorities. Through diplomatic channels, this issue has also been brought up with China. I want to reassure the House that our forces are dedicated to defending our borders and prepared to thwart any attempts to do so "Rajnath Singh said.
