Bird flu wreaks havoc across country, Delhi administration says, 'No threat in the capital'

New Delhi: In view of the increasing risk of bird flu in the neighbouring states, the Animal Husbandry Department in the national capital Delhi has become alert. According to the Delhi Animal Husbandry Department, so far 104 samples have been collected from various areas of Delhi. The samples have been sent to Jalandhar's laboratory for examination. At present, it will take 72 hours for the report to arrive.

However, the Animal Husbandry Department says that at present there is no risk of bird flu in Delhi. So there is nothing to fear. According to the guidelines in the zoo of Delhi, surveillance work will be done, the zoo administration has been alerted. If necessary, the Animal Husbandry Department team will also go to the zoo for assistance. Officials of the department said that if there is any disease in birds or if they die in an unusual way, then they will be monitored. The samples are also being taken from many places including Ghazipur Murga Mandi.

The department said that a large number of migratory birds keep coming in many areas of Delhi. The team formed at the district level has been instructed to increase surveillance in areas like Biodiversity Park, Lake. So that the growing havoc of bird flu can be stopped.
