New Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 9 wickets in the 32nd match of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). After the thumping win, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant said that before the start of the match, there was a lot of uncertainty as to whether it would be played or not. In fact, Tim Seifert of the DC was found positive in the corona test held in the morning, which created doubts about the organization of the match.

Rishabh Pant said after the match played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, "There was a lot of doubt about Corona. The players were also in doubt. We were also a little nervous because there was talk that the match could be called off. But we talked as a team and focused on the match." Pant praised the performance of all three of his spinners, thanks to which the team managed to bundle out Punjab Kings (PBKS) for 115 runs. He also praised the performance of opening batsmen David Warner (60 not out) and Prithvi Shaw, with the help of which the team achieved an easy 9-wicket victory in 10.3 overs.

With the help of Warner's half-century and an 83-run partnership for the first wicket with Shaw (41), the team easily achieved this small target. He said about Warner and Shaw, 'Mostly I let them play freely because they know their roles.' Pant said about the bowlers, 'The pitch was helping the spinners and all three of our spinners bowled well.' The man of the match was given to Kuldeep Yadav, who took two wickets for 24 runs.

Pant said that 'I think the 'Player of the Match' award should be shared with Axar Patel (two wickets for 10 runs), who took important wickets in the middle overs.' Where Punjab captain Mayank cited bad batting and poor bowling as the reason for the defeat. He said 'We neither bowled well nor batted well. We have to forget this performance. We lost a lot of wickets in the beginning, but I would not like to talk much about it. The score of 180 runs would have been correct, but we could not reach there.'
