Women's Commission demand from Lieutenant Governor, says, 'No spa center should be given license'

New Delhi: Delhi Women Commission has inspected Illegal spa centres and prepared an inquiry report. On the basis of this report, the Commission has urged the Lieutenant Governor not to grant a new license to any other spa and to change the licensing mechanism.

The Women's Commission has demanded a high-level inquiry into the role of Delhi Police, MCD and leaders in running prostitution rackets in spa centers. The chairperson of the commission has urged the Lieutenant Governor to form joint teams of MCD, Delhi Police and Delhi Women's Commission to inspect all the spa centers. According to the chairperson of the commission, Swati Maliwal, the way cross-gender massage is banned in Goa, similarly the cross-gender massage should be banned in all categories in spas and massage centres here.

During an inspection conducted in Delhi, the Commission found that large scale prostitution rackets are going on in many spa centres in different places of Delhi. Therefore, the Women's Commission has demanded the Lieutenant Governor not to license any new spa centres to check them and to check all the spa centres.
