NEW DELHIH: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's judicial custody was extended by a court in Delhi on Monday until April 17. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had requested a delay, claiming that the investigation had reached a critical point. In a case involving alleged anomalies in the formulation and application of the state's now-repealed excise policy, the top AAP leader was brought before the Rouse Avenue court.

The CBI had earlier opposed his request, stating that granting bail would undermine and damage their probe because of how widespread the influence and interference were. The investigation team, who detained Sisodia on February 26, also asserted that Sisodia had smashed phones in an effort to "delete the chat."

On March 31, the Special Court rejected Manish Sisodia's request for bail, noting that the evidence gathered to date by the CBI not only demonstrated the applicant's active involvement in the aforementioned criminal conspiracy but also his apparent commission of a number of serious violations of the PC Act.

The South Group was residing at Oberoi between March 14 and 17, 2021, according to the CBI's submission, which also stated that they had written a note and taken a printout. "36 sheets of photocopies were sent. Meetings were held, and a printout was produced. Evidence demonstrates that clauses were provided and a report was created "said by the CBI.
