NEW DELHI: K Kavitha will appear today in front of the Enforcement Directorate in the Delhi Excise Policy Case today.. 

In relation to the suspected Delhi excise policy fraud, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) , is scheduled to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday, March 16
In the meantime, Kalvakuntla Kavitha was denied an urgent hearing by the Supreme Court on Wednesday on her alleged involvement in the Delhi excise policy fraud.

Arun Pillai, a businessman from Hyderabad who represented the South Group, reportedly accosted Kalvakuntla Kavitha at her prior appearance before the ED. According to allegations, the South Group paid AAP politicians 100 crore in bribery during the Goa Assembly elections.

On March 11, Kavitha was interrogated by the ED over the Delhi Excise Policy Case for more than nine hours. The investigating team called her in order to interview her for a money laundering case involving alleged discrepancies in Delhi's excise policy. On March 16, she will be asked to give another deposition.

The agency had earler said that the "South group" was a booze cartel connected to Kavitha and others that gave the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) payments totaling around 100 crore to increase its market share in the national capital under the now-cancelled Delhi excise scheme for 2020–21.

The  Enforcement Directorate also alleged in Pillai's remand docs that he "represented the benami investments" of Kavitha in the case. The Agency previously questioned the BRS leader in relation to the case.
