Delhi Govt to provide free medical tests from New Year

NEW DELHI: Delhi's  AAP government will provide 450 types of medical tests free of cost at its hospitals and health centres from January 1. 
 
At present, the number of medical tests provided free-of-cost by the Delhi government is 212.  Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has given approval to a health department proposal for making 238 more tests free-of-cost at hospitals and Mohalla Clinics, the facility will be available to the people of Delhi. the govt sources said.
 
CM Kejriwal said providing good quality health and education to all, irrespective of their economic status, is his government's mission. Taking to Twitter he wrote: “Offering good quality health and education to all, irrespective of anyone’s economic status, is our mission. Healthcare has become very costly. Many people can not afford private healthcare. This move will help all such people."  
 
The party recently come out victorious in the election, winning 134 wards and ending the BJP's 15-year rule in the civic body. The Bhartiya Janata Party bagged 104 wards to finish 2ne, while the Congress party won 9 seats.
 
Days after the party victgory, the Delhi government determined to divide the Union Territory into 12 zones and offer the responsibility of 3 zones each to 4 senior leaders of the party. The 4 leaders will coordinate with the councilors of their zones, will meet the locals, hold meetings to tackle their problems and so on.
 
The 12 zones are  namely - Civil Lines, , Narela, Keshavpuram, Rohini, Najafgarh Karol Bagh, Shahdara North, West Zone, Sadar, Central, South, and Shahdara South, an official statement issued on Saturday said.
