The Delhi High Court has agreed on Thursday to hear the petitions of a Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) officer and a businessman arrested in the Rs 3 crore bribery case by the CBI. In fact, the then Director-General of Ludhiana DRI Chandrashekhar and businessman Rajesh Dhanda in the case challenged the lower court's order in their petitions asking them to reveal the password of their phone seized by the CBI.

These petitions were brought before the bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Harishankar of Delhi High Court. The bench approved to list it for hearing during the day. However, later these petitions of both the accused were listed before the court of Justice Rajneesh Bhatnagar.

Lawyers appearing for Chandrasekhar and Rajesh Dhanda told the High Court that the CBI court had on Wednesday asked their client to reveal the password of his phone, after which the agency issued a notice to appear on the same day at 1 pm on Thursday. This is a violation of the right to privacy.
