New Delhi: Delhi LG VK Saxena has ordered a recovery of Rs 97 crore from AAP for publishing political advertisements as government advertisements. Yes, LG has given 15 days time to the AAP government of Delhi for this payment. Let us tell you that this order of Delhi's LG VK Saxena has come in view of the 2015 order given by the Supreme Court, the 2016 order given by the Delhi High Court, and the 2016 order of the CCRGA itself. In this case, it is alleged that these orders are being violated by the Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi.

Let us tell you that the LG in its order to the Chief Secretary has also directed that all advertisements from September 2016 onwards be sent to the CCRGA to examine and ascertain whether they are approved by the Supreme Court. Is it in line with the issued guidelines? In such a situation, the LG has demanded to recover the amount spent in the functioning of the said illegal committee. Along with this, orders have also been given that from September 2016 till now all the advertisements of the Delhi Government will be scrutinized by the Expert Committee. Not only this but also Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has used his powers to clear 11 important projects of the Center pending with the Kejriwal government.

The officials of the LG office gave this information on Monday. It was told that many projects of the Center were awaiting approval for a long time. Redevelopment of GPRA Colony at Srinivaspuri pending since 2019, GPRA Sarojini Nagar pending since August 2021, and Urban Extension Road (UER-II) by NHAI pending since September 2021. Simultaneously, officials said that the Lieutenant Governor has asked the Kejriwal government to send 11 files to the Kejriwal government by exercising his powers of recall of files in terms of Rule 19 (5) of the Transaction of Business of GNCTD Rules (TOBR), 1993.

Whereas Rule 19(5) of TOBR empowers the Lieutenant Governor to withdraw the files pending with the Ministers/Chief Minister in the public interest. Rule 19(5) compels the government to send files to the LG, whether he has approved it or not. The letter was sent on 9th December, talking about the implementation of Rule 19(5) of TOBR.
