New Delhi: Mohammed Zubair, co-editor of propaganda website Alt News, has been arrested by the Delhi Police. It is being told that this action has been taken on Zubair in the case of inciting religious sentiments.

Zubair has been charged under Section 153 (acts which may lead to rioting and rioting) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 295 (insulting an object considered sacred by a society). Let us know that Mohammed Zubair is notorious for spreading fake news and his media portal is also famous for Hinduphobic news. This is the same Mohammed Zubair, who created a blasphemy uproar all over the world by editing Nupur Sharma's video and translating it into another language. Whereas, Zubair's own social media accounts were filled with posts insulting Hindu deities, which were later deleted by Zubair himself. But screenshots of those posts are still available to social media users.

Now, the Delhi Police has started preparing to produce Mohammed Zubair before a magistrate, during which Zubair's custody will be sought for questioning. At the same time, Zubair can also be sent to jail. However, there is a long history of senior lawyers immediately approaching the Supreme Court and the High Court to save the Left and fundamentalists. Now it remains to be seen whether lawyers like Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi will camp in court to save Zubair.
