Batla House Encounter: Indian Mujahideen terrorists sentenced to death for killing Inspector

New Delhi: Indian Mujahideen terrorist Ariz Khan has been sentenced to death by a Delhi-based police court in the Batla House encounter case. Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Yadav has termed it as the rare of the rare case. With this, an economic penalty of 11 lakh has also been imposed on the Ariz Khan.

Former Delhi joint police commissioner Karnal Singh said on the decision that today's decision shows that the police has conducted a correct investigation and the credit goes to the departed Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma and Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. After the Batla House encounter, the Indian Mujahideen terrorists were helped to search and their connivance was exposed. After receiving the death sentence to terrorist Ariz Khan, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said Sonia Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, and Digvijay Singh had questioned the police action and supported the terrorists in a way. Javadekar has also asked the said people to apologize to the country.

Dcp Sanjeev Kumar Yadav of Delhi Special Cell said that this is a very good decision and will boost the morale of the police and team involved in the encounter. This is a true tribute to Inspector Mohan Chandra Sharma, who was martyred in the encounter.
