Western disturbances are once again becoming active in north-west India. Due to this, there will be light snowfall in the hilly area and cold wave conditions are going to increase in the plains. The Met ministry has predicted that the mercury will drop sharply this week and the Delhi-NCR weather may get colder. Pollution is also not expected to provide relief. Delhi recorded 346 AQI this morning. It has become in a very serious category.

According to Mahesh Palawat, chief meteorologist at Skymet Weather, light snowfall in the mountains is still increasing due to the activity of western disturbances. There may be very light rainfall in the plains. This can further enhance the feeling of thithuran. According to the Met department, the maximum temperature in the last 24 hours has been recorded at 22.7 degrees Celsius below normal and one less than the minimum at 7.5 degrees Celsius. The humidity level in the air was 47 to 97 per cent. Lodi Road has been the coldest area with 7.2 degrees Celsius. It was sunny all day long. The chill is increasing with the cold air in the evening.

Delhi's maximum temperature will be 23 and minimum seven degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. At present, the wind direction has remained towards the south-east. The wind direction may be northwestwards in the coming week 24 hours. This is going to increase the chill in Delhi-NCR due to cold air coming from northern Himalayas.
