The impact of the storm, which began On Monday, brought more than one and a half feet (45 centimeters) of rain to the mountainous area of Southern California and more than five feet (1.5 meters) of snow at the Sierra Nevada ski resort. Roads are closed due to rocks, falling stones, and landslides from the mountains. Due to floods, some parts of the route have been converted into waterways. Many houses have been washed away in the overflowing rivers.
