Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given a controversial statement on Monday. In fact, she said, 'She doesn't think that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is behind the alleged excesses of central agencies in the state.' In fact, Mamata Banerjee, who was a fierce critic of the Modi government, alleged that a section of BJP leaders was misusing the agencies to serve their interests. Simultaneously, on a resolution in the assembly against the "excesses" of central investigative agencies, Banerjee urged the prime minister to ensure that the agenda of the central government and the interests of his party do not mix.
The BJP opposed the resolution which was later passed by the Assembly. In fact, Mamata Banerjee said, 'The present central government is behaving in a dictatorial manner. This resolution is not against any particular person, but against the partisan functioning of central agencies. At the same time, BJP says that such a resolution against CBI and ED is against the rules of the assembly. The motion got 189 votes in favour and 69 against. Let us tell you that central agencies like CBI and ED are probing several cases in the state in which several senior Trinamool Congress leaders are accused. On the other hand, after Mamata Banerjee's statement, the Congress and the Communist Party of India-Marxist alleged that a tacit understanding has emerged between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP.
In fact, Mamata Banerjee said, 'Every day, BJP leaders threaten to get the leaders of opposition parties arrested by CBI and ED. Should central agencies work in this way in the country? I don't think Prime Minister Narendra Modi is behind this, but there are some BJP leaders who are misusing CBI and ED for their own interests.'
Apart from this, she said that the CBI, which used to report to the PMO, is now under the jurisdiction of the Union Home Ministry. Before you know, Mamata Banerjee had alleged that Modi is getting CBI and ED to take action against political opponents. Simultaneously, referring to the BJP leaders of the state, Mamata Banerjee wondered why they often meet CBI officers in their offices. In fact, the Chief Minister claimed that businessmen are leaving the country because they are being harassed by the ED and CBI.
