Famous Canadian rapper and singer Drake is teaming up with ESPN to provide the music for the network's televised Monday Night Football games.

ESPN said on Tuesday that the CEO of OVO Sound would work with the network all through the NFL season, selecting music for live telecasts, advertising spots, and pre-game programmes, for a total of ten games, beginning this week. Drake may pick music that "encapsulates both the intensity and emotion" of certain Monday games on ESPN, according to a statement. Drake's current album, 'Certified Lover Boy,' will be featured, as well as some of his old hits and new music from other big-name musicians.

"Now we are here...the kickoff of the football season. And who better to curate music for Monday Night Football than Drake who sits firmly at the intersection of music and sports. We couldn't be more excited for this upcoming collaboration," Emeka Ofodile, Vice President of Sports Marketing, ESPN, said in the release.

Drake is among the world's best-selling music artists, with over 170 million records sold. He has won four Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, a record of 27 Billboard Music Awards, two Brit Awards, and three Juno Awards, and holds several Billboard chart records.
