Aurangabad: For the past few days, there has been tension in Maharashtra over the demand for a ban on loudspeakers in mosques. On the other hand, it became difficult to play the song on azaan in the Satara police station area of the city. City CP Dr Nikhil Gupta has taken a serious view of the incident, following which a case has been registered against the SI at Satara police station. The culprit has been identified as Kishore Gadappa Malkunaik.

According to the information received from the police, the culprit lives in a building in the Gadappa Satara complex. Behind the building is a mosque. At the time of azaan, the culprits lodged a complaint with the police control room. On the complaint, SI Sonawane of Satara police station reached the spot and investigated the matter. In which the police found that SI Gadappa was playing songs on loudspeakers during evening prayers. Subsequently, the police registered a case against Gadappa.

Police said playing si songs at the time of prayers could have created tension between the two religions and worsened the situation. When the news of the case came to the notice of the city's CP, Dr Nikhil Gupta, he registered a case against Sarsi Gadappa for exposing sections 37/1 and 3 of the Maharashtra Police Act. CP Dr Nikhil Gupta made it clear that whoever tries to bring peace to the city will not be spared. The police will deal with it strictly.
