Earthquake jolts Uttarakhand, measured 4.7 on the Richter scale

Dehradun: Earthquake tremors have been felt in 3 districts including Uttarakhand's capital Dehradun this morning. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earth has shaken in many areas of the Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Tehri districts of Uttarakhand. An earthquake hit the Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Tehri districts of Uttarakhand at 8.33 am today. The earthquake measured 4.7 on the Richter scale. The impact of this earthquake has occurred in both India and China. Its epicentre is said to be 35 km from Chinyalisore.  

Earlier on November 1, tremors were felt in Jabalpur and many adjoining districts of Madhya Pradesh. The earthquake measured 4.3 on the Richter scale. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, these earthquakes were also felt in Madhya Pradesh at around 8.43 am. Their epicentre was 216 km from Pachmarhi at a depth of 10 km. Before Madhya Pradesh, earthquake tremors were felt in Arunachal Pradesh on October 25 last. According to the National Center for Seismology, earthquake tremors were felt in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh at 04:07 am. The epicentre of the quake was 81 km from Tawang at a depth of 10 km.   

Before Arunachal, a strong earthquake was felt in Manipur at around 11.41 pm on October 23. Then, people came out of their houses. According to the report, the earthquake was felt in Thoubal in Manipur. Its intensity was measured at 3.3 on the Richter scale. The depth of the earthquake was 40 kilometres below the ground.
