NEW DELHI, On Monday, 30 May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government completed its eighth year in power.  PM Modi has been the country's leader since 2014, and in his second term, he was able to ensure that his party's popularity grew even more. The second term's last three years have been full with obstacles that have been met with decisive leadership and political victory.

The following are the top eight achievements in Modi 2.0:-

Abrogation of Article 370: On August 5, 2019, Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced a Bill in Parliament to repeal Article 370 and bring Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh into the mainstream.

Ayodhya's Ram Mandir: The construction of the Ram Temple was promised in the BJP's election programme, and it is now well on its way to being realised. PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the new Ram Temple in August 2020, and it is expected to be completed by 2023

Mahotsav Azadi Ka Amrit: To commemorate India's 75th year of independence, the government has launched an umbrella programme called "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav," which is being celebrated across the country and honours all those who have contributed to the country's struggle for independence. The campaign honours the contributions of unheralded national heroes.

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY):  PM Modi announced free rationing for the underprivileged part of society during the first phase of COVID. The scheme was then extended for another six months during the second wave, until March 2022.

Ayushman Bharat and universal vaccination: In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government began a statewide immunisation campaign. India has administered over 193 crore doses of the COVID vaccine in what is said to be the world's largest vaccination effort.

Rescue operations from Afghanistan and Ukraine: Following the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Operation Devi Shakti in Afghanistan to rescue stranded Indians. In Afghanistan, more than 700 individuals were evacuated.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana: Under this scheme, Farmers receive Rs 6,000 in three instalments of Rs 2,000 per year through this scheme, directly sent to their bank accounts. 

Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana: The Modi government introduced this initiative in 2015 to give everyone with affordable housing. More than 2 crore individuals have been given homes under the scheme, according to data accessible till the end of March 2020
