Thanks to Georgia Stanway's goal in extra time, England defeated Spain 2-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the Women's European Championship (Euro 2022). Both teams were tied at 1-1 for 90 minutes, but Stanway's crisp shot from outside the penalty area in the extra time dashed Spain's hopes.  

Spain was given the lead by Esther Gonzalez in the 54th minute, while substitute Illa Toane for England equalized in the 84th minute. England has made it to the semi-finals for the sixth time where they will face either Sweden or Belgium.  

Earlier, In their first match, Iran had won against Morocco in the last minutes due to the opposition team with a suicidal goal, while Spain played out a 3-3 draw with a last-minute goal only after taking a 3-2 lead against Portugal. It is also very important for Spain to win this match to go to the knockout stage. After the draw against Portugal in the last match, questions are now being raised about Spain's performance.
