Port Elizabeth: England cricket team has become the first team to play 500 Test matches out of home. He achieved this feat with South Africa in the Test match being played at the St. George's Ground. England played their first Test match on overseas ground against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) under the captaincy of James Lealey White, which was also officially the first Test match.

The match was played from 15 March to 19 March 1877, in which Australia defeated England by 45 runs. England have so far been able to win 149 matches out of the house while they have lost in 182 matches. Australia is second in terms of maximum number of Tests played outside home. Australia has played 404 away matches at home.

Out of this, Australia has won in 147 matches while it has lost in 125 matches. There are 131 matches being drawn. India have played only 268 Tests away from home. Out of these, India has won 51, while in 113 matches, Team India has lost. At the same time, the Indian team has played 104 matches.
