Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Wednesday (November 23) said that the number of terrorists in the Valley has come down to less than 100 and the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved. Dilbag Singh said that the security forces are doing a commendable job and that is why better results have come out at the ground level.

According to reports, after reviewing the security situation in South Kashmir, DGP Dilbag Singh told media persons in Anantnag, "I am happy to inform you that the security situation in the valley is improving and it is better than before." On terror attacks on non-locals and minorities in the Valley, he said such acts were condemnable. The DGP further said, 'These are barbaric attacks. They are attacking common people who come to Kashmir for their livelihood. Police and security forces have taken action whenever such attacks have taken place. Some people involved in the killing of innocent people have been killed in encounters.' DGP Dilbag Singh said that society needs to condemn such attacks in the strongest terms.

DGP Dilbag Singh further said, 'Society needs to stand against such crimes and we cannot remain silent on this. It is also our responsibility to keep the workers from outside safe.' According to Singh, 'People have expressed their displeasure against such attacks to a great extent, however, this is not enough and people have to identify terrorists or their supporters and humiliate them in the society. As far as police action is concerned, those involved in such crimes will not be forgiven.'
