The cabinet, which held talks on the medical and health sector in the Telangana cabinet meeting held on Thursday, mainly discussed the COVID-19 situation in the state. In the meeting, four super specialty hospitals have been approved for the state and the officials concerned have been directed to start construction of the hospitals at the earliest.

It was decided to inaugurate four new medical colleges in the state from next year and directed the Medical and Health Department to take all necessary measures to open the college. The cabinet also approved the development of infrastructure and health sector. Officials told the cabinet that even after the reopening of educational institutions, the cases of COVID-19 in the state are under control.

He said that over 2.56 crore vaccine doses were distributed and a special vaccination drive would be started from today. The officials also made it clear to the cabinet that they are prepared to deal with COVID-19 in children. Telangana Assembly session will start from September 24 The cabinet has also decided to hold the assembly session and council session from September 24.
