Kakinada, At a village in East Godavari district four members of a family committed suicide by jumping into a salt creek in the wee hours.

The deceased were identified as Bhulakshmi 45 and her three sons Prabhu Prakash 22, Anil Kumar 20 and Prem Sagar 17 ended their lives by jumping into the salt creek at Amaravilli village.

According to police, "heavy debt and kidney ailment of one of the sons were suspected to be the reasons behind their extreme step".

Later, the bodies were fished out and sent for postmortem to Government General Hospital, Kakinada.

Police added that a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
