In the recent interview Neena Gupta narrating an incident said once a director abused her. She said that she had a small role in that film, with just 2-3 dialogues. On the day of the shoot, however, those dialogues were also cut and she had no role left in the film. The actress said, "I went up to the director and said ‘I just had two lines and you’ve cut those as well.’
She said he gave me maa-behen ki gaali in front of everybody. Vinod Khanna was there, Juhi Chawla, everybody and I just started crying because he abused me in front of everyone." The actress soon laughed off the incident, adding that things like that might not be happening today. "I don’t think this happens today, or maybe it happens but I am not in the same position. No one would give me maa-behen ki gaalis today."
Neena was last seen in Uunchai. Speaking about the film, Uunchai stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parineeti Chopra, and Sarika in pivotal roles. It has been directed by Sooraj Barjatya under Rajshri Productions. The filmmaker, who is known for directing films such as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, Hum Saath Saath Hain etc, has returned to the director’s chair after seven years with this film.
