Government's big gift to farmers, crores of rupees have been credited to account

Raipur: A big news is coming out from Chhattisgarh in which the government on Saturday gave a gift to the farmers on the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The Government of Chhattisgarh has transferred the money to the accounts of the farmers. The amount was put into the accounts of farmers, landless agricultural labourers, cattle herders and women belonging to the group.  

The Chhattisgarh government has transferred Rs 1,804 crore to the accounts of more than 26 lakh 68 thousand farmers. This amount has been put directly into the accounts of the farmers under different schemes. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana, Rs 1720 crore has been put in the accounts of farmers. Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, the government has paid 11.14 crore to Gauthan Samitis and women-SHGs, 2.17 crore to dung collectors. 71.08 crore has been transferred to the accounts of agricultural labourers under the Rajiv Gandhi Landless Agricultural Labourers Scheme.  

Speaking at the same virtual function, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that in the last three years, the Chhattisgarh government has taken several useful steps for the welfare of farmers and deprived sections of the society. These include Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyayojana, Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Landless Agricultural Labourers' Nyaya Yojana, Surji Gaon Yojana, Narwa-Garwa-Ghurwa-Bari Celebrations, Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park, procurement of 65 types of minor forest produce on support. He further said that Chhattisgarh is the first state to have ensured "economic and social justice for all" under the Nyaya Yojana.
