New Delhi: Technology giant Google on Monday announced an investment of $ 10 billion (Rs 75,000 crore per Indian currency) in India. Prior to the announcement of this investment by Google, PM Modi and Sundar Pichai have talked through video conferencing thus Google decided that this investment will help to meet the target of PM Modi's Digital India.

Google said in a statement that this is an important step in the midst of the global pandemic Coronavirus, which reflects India's openness and attractiveness as an investment destination. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that I am very happy to announce the Google for India Digitization Fund, through this, we will invest 75,000 crore rupees in India within the next 5 to 7 years. We will invest this through equity investment, partnerships, and operational infrastructure.

At the Google for India event, Pichai said that this investment decision reflects the company's confidence in India's future and its digital economy. Pichai said the investment will be focused on four key areas of digitization in India, this includes giving every Indian affordable access to information in their language, creating new products and services to India's specific needs, strengthening businesses and social well-being in areas such as health care, education, and agriculture with technology and artificial intelligence.
