Spring season comes with joyous celebrations! The nation plans to usher the celebration of lights, devouring, and rangoli designs. The Hindu Religion renowned for its distinctive Puja ceremonies has one such popular and significant Puja custom known as Govardhan Puja.

Govardhan Puja is in believed with following principle Diwali Pujan and is praised in honor of victory of Lord Krishna over Lord Indra. It is the fourth day of Diwali and imprints the start of Vikram Samvat Calendar. Otherwise called Annakut Puja, this year the celebration will be commended on Saturday, November 14.

Significance of such a spiritual day: Sacred writings and stories in the conventional Hindu mythology talks about the power Lord Indra holds. Back to the earlier time, when Lord Indra, the God of Rain was worshipped by Vrindavan people, lavish meals were offered to satisfy him and seek divine blessings. However, Lord Krishna assured all the believers of Vrindavan to also worship and pray to Govardhan Hill, who for their living nurtured soil and upheld their work. At the point when Lord Indra saw this, he was shocked and in anger fought back by pushing intense rainstorms down the town. Such climate unleashed the town people and drowned away numerous livelihoods.

Nonetheless, Lord Krishna rescued the residents by lifting the Govardhan town with his little finger. This continued for seven days and seven evenings. At long last, Lord Indra understood his slip-up and bowed down to Krishna.

The devotees after such an incident, as a characteristic of regard to Lord Krishna offer load of grain during the puja, which represented the Govardhan Hill.
